Zoe Stark was looking forward to completing her epic return to WWE at the NXT Heatwave tonight, as she prepared to battle Mandy Rose for the NXT Women’s Championship. Stark is back ahead of schedule after recovering from an injury and will claim victory in the Battle Royale, the number one contender in the shot at the Rose Tournament. Rose wasn’t looking to end her reign just yet, and while both stars gave it their all, it was Rose’s successful targeting of Stark’s knee and leg that allowed her to grab the pin and win. She defeated Rose Stark to retain the NXT Women’s Championship, and now we have to wait and see who her next challenger will be.
Rose led with a kick but Stark grabbed it only to get a knee on the stomach by Rose. Rose picked up Stark’s next move but Stark hit back and went for cover, but the hero was kicked out. Stark hit a shoulder tackle causing Rose to exit the ring, but Stark’s fall prompted her to hit her on the back. Rose came back with fire though, hitting Stark again in the arena and then throwing her onto the announcement table and then smashing Stark’s previously injured knee into the table.

Rose kept the attack going on Stark’s knee and leg, kicking her and applying more pressure to her at every opportunity. Rose then struck a few blows, and while Stark struck blows on her own, she was clearly limping. Kicked out by Rose’s next cover attempt, Stark starts getting a roll but then the rest of the Toxic Attraction pulls Stark out of the ring. Nikita Lyons came out and released them after they were asked to leave the front row in the first row.
Rose continued to brutally attack Stark’s leg and knee, kicking the knee and then hitting it on the carpet. Rose locked a crab with one leg, but Stark managed to push it away and out of the ring. Stark hit several moves in a row, including a kick to the head and then went for cover, but Rose kicked.
She hit Stark in big chunks afterwards and then a kick to the champ’s back, but Rose caught her on her next move and hit her on the carpet. They exchanged blows, then Stark fell on Rose, but she managed to get out of the ring. Rose then got Stark’s leg wrapped in ropes, but she broke free and Rose almost got wrapped. Rose took a big kick in the head and went for cover, but somehow knocked out Stark.
Rose put on Stark’s knee brace and then attached a knee kick to the head, which was enough to pin and win. Rose retained the NXT Women’s Championship at Heatwave.
